That sucks...I really do like that show. Also it appears that SGB could be disappearing as well (unless it was just the KBS World feed that dropped it).

---

I've been doing very little actual study lately as I've been so busy with other things (mostly work). I've kept up with SRS reviews and still watch Korean TV and listen to Korean music daily, but that's been about the extent of it. {sigh} I need to crack down and learn some new vocab today.

Star Golden Bell finished its run last month. KBS is canceling shows left and right. Only their dramas have done well this year.

I've fallen behind on my SRS reviews. I had over 700 due this morning. But seeing as I have to do my homework and study for my geology final, yeah, going to have to wait until Friday and Saturday for that.

For Japanese vocab, I went back to my old method and wrote down the word and definition on a piece of paper. I've filled out two pages, so that's roughly 264 words there. I'll just be looking over them on intervals, as if I were reviewing them in Anki. Then over the next to to three weeks, I'll be finding sentences for each word. So, basically, by the time I put them in Anki, I should know them well enough, Anki will just help make reviews easier. I'm doing this because vocab is a huge weakness for me in Japanese, and to play Tales of Graces F (or any video game, for that matter, I need to beef up my vocab.)

I have 6 pages of Japanese words and the definitions written out. Yes, I had a lot of time in between the time I finished my geology final and when I had to go to another class at the other university I go to. That's (132*6=792) words in two days. Granted, for these papers, I'll just be looking over them on intervals, so one day later, two days, four, eight, sixteen, etc., until I get all of them in the SRS.

Advantage: learn the words faster (without the kanji. So this is basically knowing the word before knowing how to fully read it.) I need to build my vocabulary quickly.

Disadvantage: More work to do. Beats studying 785859896 cards all at once though.

Speaking of SRS, 913 cards. Probably near 1,000 tomorrow. Probably will take me 2-3 days to catch up. Since I have two more finals to study for, that's gonna cut into my dramas, which I'm already behind on. I might have to do the unthinkable and wait a week to watch the variety shows so that I don't fall so far behind in the dramas that I forget everything.

There's no guarantee if it's not all girls. I'm a dude. I watched it for the girls. If it's mixed or all guys, I'm not watching, unless they have a female idol I really like.

Finally caught up with SRS reviews today. Have a lot of suspended cards, and will be trying to get those down as fast as possible. I can't wait until Friday after my final, because I can go devote a lot more time to Korean and Japanese (and video games) for three weeks.

Last night I spoke with a Japanese girl, but English and Korean was used the most often, and I just said a thing here or there in Japanese (a lot better than nothing.) It's hard to chat when someone uses romanization, but Japanese people use a different system, so it's even harder than it already is. (They don't differentiate between eo and o, eu and u, [too lazy to open my language bar] and some consonants, but I was able to understand.)

A few days ago I wrote a journal entry in Korean, in an actual journal. I should put that on Lang 8 tonight. Speaking of Lang 8, I plan on writing an article every day over break, and when school starts back again, at least once a week (didn't use it after school started.)

잘한다! I know that having a backlog of reviews can really sap your motivation to even fire up the SRS sometimes.

Y'know there are keyboard shortcuts for switching input modes without having to mess with the language bar, right? ;) For Windows, the default keystrokes are LEFT_ALT+LEFT_SHIFT to switch to the next language you have configured, RIGHT_ALT to switch between ABC/가나다 mode (when in Korean mode), and RIGHT_CTRL to convert the current 한글 syllable block to a 漢字 character.

In fact, those key combos are so ingrained into my head now then when I reloaded one of my home machines with Ubuntu Linux the other day, I quickly changed the SCIM keystroke defaults to match what I was used to in Windows as I knew it would drive me insane if I didn't.

Yeah, I need to do that myself. :-/

My computer is stupid. The language bar doesn't usually show up. I have to go to the control panel, open up the language options tab, turn off the language bar, push okay, open the language options tab back up, turn on the language bar, and then it shows up in the middle of my screen.

But you're right about SRS reviews. That's why I didn't learn much over the summer. Got a lot of cards backloaded right when vacation started and didn't progress much.
