True, but in most cases they only post things like that in the first place because that *is* what works for them. If it doesn't work for you, then absolutely toss it and move on. :) Personally, Anki is still working fairly well for me, so I'm going to continue with it. In the same vein, Khatzumoto seems to dislike grammar with a passion, yet I feel more confused without it, so I can't just blindly ignore it like he can.
I, too, need to start back in on my grammar studies. My vocab is still growing steadily, but I am starting to notice that grammar is becoming the bigger stumbling block again. (I generally switch my focus back and forth between grammar and vocab based on which one seems to be hindering me more at the time.)

Yeah, I think my grammar is getting better, but my knowledge is mainly passive, as I haven't used a lot of the grammar I know passively. But yeah, I plan on learning a lot of grammar and vocab within the next 12 months. I feel I'm at the stage where I need to work a lot harder to improve, as doing it slowly is plateauing me.
Plus I'm thinking of going to Korea sometime next year as a self-graduation present haha.

So this week, Operation Sucking Less At Korean started. I started using Lang 8 and Shared Talk again. I'm practicing speaking by reading out loud drama scripts. I finally got my Korean-English dictionary today, so I'll be memorizing vocabulary and grammar structures with flash cards. I later plan to introduce self-talk and the scriptorium into my study.
And yeah, since I've dropped Japanese, I have more time to watch Korean dramas, movies, and variety shows.
(I'll just focus on one language at a time. I can't juggle languages like most people do here.)

Sorry to see you dropping Japanese since that's what I'm studying right now =/. Best of luck with the Korean though. I end up studying one language at a time too although I'd like to try to study more. I just don't have the energy for it.

Well, studying two at once really slows down my progress. I'll fall behind in one and then try to compensate for it, then the other one starts falling behind. Plus languages like Korean and Japanese require all of your attention to make progress in them.

I'm going to use both paper flashcards and Anki. I'll use paper flashcards to actually learn the words (and my method to learn them with paper flashcards is really working for me) and then use Anki to keep those words in my long term memory.
Aside from that, watching a lot of Kdramas. I tried watching IY2 episode 1, but only made it 12 minutes in. Too much focus on Amber in the beginning for me to enjoy it.
