CHALLENGE: Full Super Challenge

CURRENT LEVEL: ~B1

COMMENTS:
I won't be able to buy 100 books from the internet so I will be reading all the ones
that I already own and borrowing what I can from friends. However, the majority of my
reading will most likely be news articles on the internet. I'm probably just going to
do 100 news articles = one book.

As for videos, I'm going to count one drama episode(~1 hour long) as one full movie.

I'm probably going to be purchasing a notebook to record my process daily until the
finishing date of this challenge. Also, GOOD LUCK EVERYONE :D

You are allowed to re-read books as many times as you like, Kevin Hsu. I think it will be beneficial to do so, as well as convenient for the challenge.

EDIT: sorry, I forgot I wasn't on the discussion thread!

EDIT: so go for it! Have fun and you'll learn so much!

No problem. I wanted to keep this for registration, updates and encouragement only, but I am not going to
get hysterical when we slip up. Not if, when :-) Besides all you have to do to be totally within the rules is to
edit inn a little encouragement to the other participants :-)

I'm in!

LANGUAGE: French

CHALLENGE: Super Duper including speaking to natives/ 50 hours & writing 100 pieces/ articles.

CURRENT LEVEL: Rusty B2 so more like a A2 now

COMMENTS:
Should really be continuing to revise German instead but am not motivated that way until work calls for it again. Will start with films I know well dubbed into French. Will also take a slow start while I do a 3WC in Vietnamese.
Will also be adopting the method and doing a Spanish SDC but I'm excluded

My log is here

CHALLENGE: Super Duper (100 books, 100 films, 100 pieces of writing)

CURRENT LEVEL: ~ B1(?)

COMMENTS: Was also thinking about doing Korean as well, but after a second thought,
I've decided that for this challenge, I'll only concentrate on German. I keep buying
books in German. There are more than 40 of them, but till now I only finished reading
like 4. I'm addicted to buying books >_< Hope this SuperChallenge would really get me
start reading these books instead of just buying them. Oh, and I've also got some DVDs
of Hollywood movies dubbed into German (and the collection goes on). Can't wait for the
challenge to start! :)

Hi everyone. :)

LANGUAGE: French.

CHALLENGE: Full. 100 films, 100 books.

CURRENT LEVEL: B1.

COMMENTS: Honestly, I'm going to be SO pleased with myself if I manage 100 films and 50 books before
2014, but it can't hurt to go for broke.

Other than following the parameters outlined by Solfrid Cristin, I'm going to add/modify:

- At least 5 mornings a week reading the newspaper = 1 'book' per week.
- 1 theater production = 1 film.
- 1 audiobook = 1 book (rather than 1 film).
- Podcasts and other audio-only materials won't count toward my challenge (hopefully that makes up for
switching the classification of 'audiobook').

CHALLENGE: HALF (50 movies, 50 books)

CURRENT LEVEL: I'm actually all over the place since I'm largely a random learner. Characters is my weakest point followed by speaking. In general, I'm someplace in intermediate.

COMMENTS: Need to push myself to work characters.

Movies which will be included....
The Devil Wears Prada (ordered)
Jumanji (ordered)
Get Smart (ordered)
Stormy Night (recently arrived)
LOTR (already have, quite hard for me)

Unsure about the books. Regardless of what people have said about characters though, they intimate me. So my preference is to learn simplified. But I have a complete set of graded readers in traditional Chinese. I have a local chat partner (Shanghainese) who is willing to listen to me read out loud, and is pushing me to do hand writing....she gets disturbed watching me continually write in pinyin. I just ordered a copy of "The Magic Ark: The Adventures of "Tiny Wang"" (Far Eastern Publications Series) which is at the 700 character level.
