Decided to take this on board, so I'll update with my various studies.

28/04/08

Spanish - Lunch: Listened to Assimil Spanish with Ease - Lessons 8-25. (40 minutes)

Purchased French with Ease (also at Lunch).

[EDIT - 06/10/08 - Changed the name of the main thread, and also the language]

Evening

Assimil New French with Ease (Lessons 1 -5) (~1.5 hours)
- It feels like an updated version, compared to the Spanish. The recording quality is superior.
- I doubt I'll cover as much in anyone session again, as the newness of the product made it easier.

Downloaded FSI Basic French Lessons (1-8) - a very slow process that took over 4 hours. Aahh.

Lunch (~40 minutes)
Listened to Assimil New French with Ease (Lessons 1 -5)
LIYC French Level 1-1 (1-5) - I forgot to use GoldWave (Blend Channels) so it's French in one ear, and English in the other. Grrr.

Started the FSI Basic French, but abandoned it because the recording quality was really bad. I've used the FSI Hungarian before, and it's much clearer. (~20 minutes)
- Not sure whether to go through the course without audio, but with French that seems a bit pointless.

LIYC French 5-14 (~20 minutes)

Morning

Michel Thomas Spanish Vocabulary Course CD4 (Tracks 6-9) (~15 minutes)
- I've done this course twice now, so I'm trying to overlearn it on the third session.

Evening

Ended up doing more then I planned, which I suppose is a good thing. I don't expect this commitment to last, once I settle into a more regular pattern with French. I've also noticed that my other languages are been ignored.

Assimil New French with Ease (Lessons 10 - 15) (~1.5 hours)
- I've been completing the Assimil lessons very quickly, but not very thoroughly. My plan is to get through chunks of Assimil, and revise them in larger groups. This should hopefully keep the lessons retained for longer.

Teach Yourself French Grammar - Unit 1 (~30 minutes)
- Bought this yesterday as a structured way to approach just the grammar. Might also get one of the other grammar workbooks as well.

Michel Thomas French Foundation Course CD 1 (1-8) (~40 minutes)
- I wasn't sure whether to skip this or not. I've done Foundation MT in Spanish, Italian, Russian and German, but never French. As I expected, the French course is extremely similar to the Spanish and Italian in structure.

French in Action (1 and 2) (~1 hour)
- After reading a number of good review on this site, I decided to give this a viewing. It was a handy way to kill the time while waiting to rip the MT CD's to my player. I couldn't figure out how to get them as wmv's though.

Morning

Re-read Assimil New French with Ease (Lessons 1-11) (~20 minutes)
- Just revised this in case I missed some grammar points.
- For some reason, the Assimil vocabulary in French is really sticking compared to the other Assimil courses. I'm not suprised that Hungarian is much slower to acquire, but it seems a lot quicker then the Spanish course.

Michel Thomas Spanish Vocabulary Course CD4 (Tracks 6-9) (~15 minutes)
- I've been revising this entire course for over a year now on my way into work.
