- This will be edited multiple times.
Russian
Michel Thomas Advanced Russian CD1-6 to CD1-8 (~15 minutes)
- It started to pour cutting my study short.
Spanish
Practice Makes Perfect Spanish Vocabulary (Exercises 1.10) (~30 minutes)
- Spent a while just learning the wordlists. I'm concentrating on getting all the vocabulary before moving onto the exercises, which only test a subset of the vocabulary.
Skimmed through Assimil Spanish with Ease (15-22, Completed 35, Started 36) (~45 minutes)
- I skimmed through the earlier lessons looking at pronoun positions, and some idiomatic expressions. E.g. debĂa de haber - there must have been.
French-Cultural
Cache - Hidden (Michael Haneke) - A good thriller with Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche. Managed to understand a reasonable amount of the French. I may increase my French study again soon, as I'm heading to France at the end of August.

Weekend Summary 11/07/08 - 13/07/08
[Note: This will be edited a few times]
Russian
Michel Thomas Advanced Russian CD1-8 to CD2-11 (~4 hours)
- This this in three sessions, with the longest yesterday at about 1.5 hours. The course is moving at a lively pace now, and covering the perfect\imperfect verbs in all tenses.
Spanish
- I switched to using pure Spanish material that I purchased on Friday. My aim is to get to an officially recognised level in Spanish, even if it's quite low at the start.
Gramatica A1-A2 Elemental (Anaya\ELE) (Units 1-4) (~2.5 hours)
- The book is by the Instituto Cervantes, and entirely in Spanish. I purchased it along with the B1 grammar equivalent. The grammar is obviously basic at the start, though it concentrates on the exceptions rather then the rules. The bigger challenge is the vocabulary, as it assumes you've completed the associated Cervantes course. I've decided to use their material, as I'm considering trying for a DELE certificate at some point.
Cronometro (Nivel Inicial) (~1.5 hours)
- This is an all Spanish study guide containing sample Nivel Inicial exams, associated listening tests on CD, and a number of helpful tips about the various sections. I'd a look over the comprehension tests for anuncios, notas and avisos. They're quite fiendish, in that 95% of the vocabulary is understandable, but the final 5% is the key to the anwser.
