Evening
- Managed a better study session in the evening, but my time estimates are tricky. The initial Assimil study was exact, but the Barrons is hard to decide. I was using the book for about 2.5 hours, but not by myself in the room.
- I just realised I've 47 days left for this TAC. I think December will be a tricky month, as it has a lot of social occasions, Christmas, and all the rest.

Spanish

Assimil Spanish with Ease - (Active Wave 24, Completed Unit 70,71, Started 72) (~45 minutes)
- The active wave was a good bit easier, with the revision I did two days ago. I ploughed on a couple of lessons, but I'll need to review them again. I did the exercises, which were not closely related to the lessons.

Listened to Assimil Spanish with Ease - (55-82) (~1.25 hours)
- I'm dividing the Assimil listening sessions mainly across the second and third CD's, with the first couple of tracks on the fourth CD in this session.

Barrons Vocabulary (~1.5 hours)
- As mentioned, I was doing this all evening yesterday, but it didn't have my exclusive attention. I was slightly dissappointed to see some of the vocabulary repeat, such as the fruit and vegetables, under a different culinary section. However, some of the palabras were useful such as guisado meaning broiled or stewed.

Morning

Hungarian

Read Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 13,14,18) (~20 minutes)
- Quickly reviewed 13, and the revision unit 14, before looking at 18 again. I know it's not an IE language, but I still feel Hungarian is absorbing very slowly. I wish there was an MT course, that could ground the basic structures very quickly, before tackling Assimil.

Lunch (~45 minutes)

Russian

LIYC Russian 1 (1-5 to 1-14)
- Covered all of CD1, and the first couple of tracks on CD2. The last track on CD1 sounds corrupted, as it's skipping slightly. Very annoying. I'm not sure if it's the original MP3 or the MP3 player.

Weekend Summary 14/11/08 - 16/11/08

Spanish

Assimil Spanish with Ease - (Active Wave 25, ReRead 25-32,69-71 Completed 72, Started 73) (~1.5 hours)
- Did this in two separate sessions. I may have underestimated the time spent on these sessions.

Listened to Assimil Spanish with Ease - (26-83) (~2.5 hours)
- This was also done in two separate sessions.

Gramatica B1 Intermedio (Anaya\ELE) (Unit 24) (~1 hour)
- Spent a bit of time reading the detailed Spanish explanations before doing a couple more exercises. There's a huge amount of information and exercises in this unit.

Listened to Read and Think in Spanish. (~1.25 hours)
- Listened to the accompanying CD. My initial assumption that it uses the native speakers of each country is wrong. The same speakers are used throughout.

Barrons Vocabulary (~20 minutes)
- Just a very quick list on grains. E.g trigo - wheat, cebada - barley.

Morning

Hungarian

Read Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Read Unit 15, Finished 18, Started 19) (~20 minutes)
- Ploughed on and completed unit 18. Just about started unit 19, which will take a number of sessions to complete.

Listened to Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 15-19) (~20 minutes)
- I'm hearing lessons 17,18 and 19 twice, due to the accidental duplication. This actually suits better.

Evening
-I managed to get a reasonable study session done.

Spanish

Assimil Spanish with Ease - (ReRead 26,31-34) (~30 minutes)
- I'm still alternating between passive and active wave reviews. It's making things slightly easier.

Listened to Assimil Spanish with Ease - (26-57) (~1.25 hours)
- Covering the active wave lessons in this walking session.

Gramatica B1 Intermedio (Anaya\ELE) (Unit 24) (~30 minutes)
- Did another couple of exercises from this unit. Didn't review the grammatical explanations in as much detail.

Barrons Vocabulary (~1.5 hours)
- Did a very long session with Barrons. It was hard to estimate the time on this, as I was in company, so I've signicantly reduced the original estimate. I covered more food terms, the restaurant, shopping, and hardware items. E.g. Marsillo - hammer, tuerca - nut, alambre - wire.

Morning

Hungarian

Read Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Unit 19) (~20 minutes)
- Unit 19 is a very tough unit blending a huge number of cases, post positions and a lot of new vocabulary. It's also difficult to follow, as it contains lot of lines like, "they take the pictures from the wall, which were between the radio and television, and place them above the bed." In Hungarian, this involves three cases for negative, neutral, and positive direction.

Listened to Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 15-19) (~20 minutes)
- I think this current session wiull remain for a while, given the complexity of unit 19.
