Evening
Michel Thomas Advanced French CD2-20 to CD3-13 (~1.25 hours)
- The course is very reminiscent of the his Advanced Spanish course now. I'm predicting he'll use the same method to describe the passé composé and the imparfait, as he used for the pretérito and the imperfecto.
-- This site is very good for forcing you to learn the correct spelling. I forgot there was an accent in pretérito, so I googled it.

Morning
Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 3-7, very start of 8) (~15 minutes)
- I really should skip on a track, as I've done these 4 a lot now. I still need to dig out the book.

Michel Thomas Advanced French CD2-22 to CD2-27 (~15 minutes)
- Shortly after I begun my Michel Thomas it started to bucket down rain, thus killing my session very short.
- It seems this day was a jinxed study day.

Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 4-8) (~15 minutes)
- Lesson 8 has a few small gaps that I can't quite remember. This also happened on lesson 7, but repeated listening brought it back. I should hopefully get to review the actuals lessons next week.

As I'll be heading to France early tomorrow, I won't be updating the log for about a week. I'll probably vary my languages a bit more when I return. I've also realised I still haven't returned to Russian study. I've made this mistake before, so I'll hopefully correct it in the next couple of months. I'm not going to include the Cultural, or even attempt to total it separately.
French
Active Study - 3665 minutes = 61.08 hours.
Passive Study - 1385 minutes = 23.08 hours
Total: 84.16 hours
Spanish
Active Study - 790 minutes = 13.16 hours
Passive Study - 240 minutes = 4 hours
Total: 17.16 hours
Russian
Active Study - 0 minutes
Passive Study - 0 minutes
Total: 0 hours
Hungarian
Active Study - 30 minutes
Passive Study - 195 minutes = 3.25 hours
Total: 3.75 hours
Overall
Total = 105.08 hours

Week Summary 19/06/08 - 24/06/08
[Note: I'll be editing this a couple of times]
- This is a summary of the last five days, including my trip to France.
French
Michel Thomas Advanced French CD3-01 to CD4-1 (~3 hours)
- I managed to cover this in these lessons in two separate sessions. The first on the Thursday, and the other last night (24/06/08). I have to say this is the best Michel Thomas course in the whole series. He crams a huge amount in, and is a lot more patient then on some of his other courses. It also feels as if he's honed his material over a long time, and developed the course with repeated teaching.
Teach Yourself French Grammar (Unit 2-3) (~30 minutes)
- I'd a quick look at this in France, but it never really grabbed me.
Cultural
- I was plunged fairly much in at the deep end in terms of the French. At first, I questioned why I took on French, as ma copine has fluent French. However, I was right to study it, as I later discovered. I was at a wedding table with all French speakers, and basically I was conversing for over eight hours through French.
- French people tend to expect that you use their language, so all encounters in shops, bars and restaurants were through French. Michel Thomas mentions on his courses that people will never stop and correct you, but repeat what your mean but correctly. I got this a few times, and it really helped.
Spanish
Practice Makes Perfect Spanish Vocabulary (Prelimary matters) (~30 minutes)
- Bought this yesterday, and completed the first exercise. There's a special section before it gets into the core of the book, with its own exercises.
