Evening

------- FRENCH --------------------------
Went slightly overboard again, as my novia was away for the evening trying on bridesmaid dresses. We're off to a wedding in France late June, so this has added considerably to my motivation to get as much French as possible before this date.

LIYC French Level 1-1 (3-4) (~10 minutes)

Assimil New French with Ease (Lesson 15 - 22) (~2 hours)
- The amount of new vocabulary and grammar has increased massively in lesson 21 and 22. I'll probably do a couple more lessons before really consolidating all I've learned.

Michel Thomas Foundation French CD1-9 to CD2-8 (~1 hour)

------- Spanish --------------------------
As we're also off to Spain in four weeks for a different wedding, I've also had to revise my Spanish.

Assimil Spanish with Ease (Lessons 7-24) (~1.25 hours)

Listened to Assimil New French with Ease (Lesson 1 - 18)
- I accidently duplicated this CD on my MP3 player so every lesson plays twice. This turned out to be an unexpected bonus, as unlike the original courses, the lessons don't repeat. It also means I can remove the duplicates for earlier lessons, which I did for 1-4. However, I'll need to remove more as I ran out of time on my lunch, and it was still playing.

Evening - Friday

I had to attend a going away party, with my girlfriend, for one of her workmates, so I got no formal study done. However, all her workmates are French, with most of them having no English at all. This meant I was in an all French environment for about 5 hours. When it was discovered, I was learning French, I ended up geting more practice then I could possibly dream of. They were all really helpful, and I got to test out my accent as well. I know some people on the forum, would argue that this is the best way to learn a language.

[EDIT - I realised that I could understand a small bit, but wasn't confident generating my own French sentences. This means I'll increase my Michel Thomas while slowing down on some of the Assimil]

03/05/08 - Saturday

With the long weekend in Ireland, and numerous friends arriving back, I expect to hamper some of my language study.

Still managed to squeeze in today,

Michel Thomas Foundation French CD2-8 to CD4-2 (~1.5 hours)

04/05/08 (Sunday) - 05/05/08 (Monday)

- Didn't get near the computer, so I'll summarise what I managed across the two days.

Michel Thomas Foundation French CD4-2 to CD6-3 (~2 hours)
- As mentioned before, I'll concentrate on MT over Assimil to improve my speaking over my listening.

Le Petit Prince (I - II)(~1 hours)
- I was using the audiobook for this in Spanish, so I didn't need to L-R it for the first two chapters. Instead, I could listen to the audio and read the text in French. I'll need to L-R it beyond this point though.

LIYC Level 1-1 (~45 minutes)
LIYC Leven 1-2 (~45 minutes)

French Grammar and Usage (Hodder Arnold) (~1.5 hours)
- Purchased this book over the weekend, and started reading up on some grammar points. I don't know whether to read the book straight through, or dip into sections that are relevant for my other study.

French Visual Dictionary (~20 minutes)
- Just flicked through, and asked ma copain how to pronounce various words.
