Weekend Summary
- Like most weekends, I didn't get as much language study done, as I do during the week.
French
Michel Thomas Foundation French CD8-5 to CD8-11 (~1.5 Hours)
- I went through this about three times, skipping ahead two tracks each time.
Michel Thomas Advanced French CD1-1 to CD1-9 (~1 hour)
- I've covered the first couple of tracks three times, the middle tracks twice, and tracks 8 and 9 just once so far.
Penguin Parallel Text French-English Short Stories (~30 minutes)
- Finished the first story, which is very odd, and disturbing. The line, "Je t'en supplie" stuck in my head. It's translated as, "I beg you"
Spanish
McGraw Hill Spanish Grammar - Practice Makes Perfect Exercises (1.14 - 1.17) (~45 minutes)
- [EDIT] - It was exercise 1.17

Morning
FSI Basic Hungarian Unit1-Tape1 (~15 minutes)
- There is still about 8 minutes left of Tape 1, which is a single MP3 track. FSI courses don't skimp on the audio, which is a very good thing.

Evening
French
Michel Thomas Advanced French CD1-1 to CD1-17 (~1 hour)
- Blending French and Spanish in the same evening is getting tricky. I kept using, "no puedo", for "I cannot" at the start.
Teach Yourself French grammar - Unit 2 (~30 minutes)
- Also watched the French film, "Taxi", which has a lot of southern French accents. Didn't understand as much as I hoped.
Spanish
McGraw Hill Spanish Grammar - Practice Makes Perfect Exercises (1.17 - 1.22) (~40 minutes)
- I skipped some of the exercises as they don't have an anwser key, so you'd never know if your completely right. One exercise was pure translation from English to Spanish, and quite tricky. I got the verbs right, but the prepositions need to be worked on.

Morning
Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 1-4) (~15 minutes)
- All the tracks are doubled, which certainly wasn't the case before. I must've used some sync function at some point in the last couple of weeks.

UPDATE:
As I'm flying to Majorca tomorrow for the week, I won't be updating the log. My language study will be somewhat hampered, but this means I will get to practice some of my Spanish. The limitations on practising Spanish is that I'll be attending an Irish wedding, where both parties are Irish. I might try and get a last cram in tonight, but it'll mostly be spent packing and tidying the apartment.
When I return, I'll be hopefully switching back to some intense French study, as my next journey is to another wedding, but this time in France. The bride and her family are French, so this will be a highly immersive environment.

Before I head, I've done another update of the time spent on the various languages. I'm not sure what to aim for by the end of the year, equal amounts on all languages or to concentrate on just one. I've included a cultural time component, which is watching films or television in the target language, but it won't be included in the TAC totals.
French
Active Study - 2510 minutes = 41.83 hours.
Passive Study - 885 minutes = 14.75 hours
Total: 58.58 hours
Cultural = 1.2 hours
Spanish
Active Study - 640 minutes = 10.66 hours
Passive Study - 240 minutes = 4 hours
Total: 14.66 hours
Russian
Active Study - 0 minutes
Passive Study - 0 minutes
Total: 0 hours
Hungarian
Active Study - 30 minutes
Passive Study -15 minutes
Total: 0.75 hours
Overall Total: 72 hours
