Evening

- This somehow turned out to be a long study evening, though I didn't think it likely.

Russian

Michel Thomas Advanced Russian CD1-14 to CD2-08 (~1 hour)
- The MP3 player died on my walk, cutting my Russian sessions slightly short.

Spanish

Assimil Spanish with Ease - (Lessons Reread 34,35, Completed 36, Started 37) (~40 minutes)
- Moved onto another new lesson. I might need to give a thorough reread of some of the lessons to ensure I've picked up the exact grammar points.

Gramatica A1-A2 Elemental (Anaya\ELE) (Units 5-9 start) (~3 hours)
- Spent a long time doing each of these units, which comprise about 9 to 10 exercises each. As it's all Spanish, I find myself checking some of the more unusual words they use. The grammar is still quite basic at this stage, but I am learning the vos tense, as well as improving my use of vosotros. In the debate about choosing between Latin American Spanish and the Iberican variety, with these courses there's no need. They cover everything.
- I should add that the thing I really love about these grammars, is you need to think in Spanish about the grammar rules, and not in English (or any other native language). They also concentrate on the usage, as well as the conjugations. For example, one of the exercises is to classify present tense verb usage as either habitual action, indefinite states, general statements, the future or instructions.

Evening

Russian

Michel Thomas Advanced Russian CD2-2 to CD2-12 (~1.25 hour)
- I might be going through some of the tracks too quickly, as I'm hitting a lot of new stuff. I prefer to really anchor what I've covered before moving on.

Spanish

Gramatica A1-A2 Elemental (Anaya\ELE) (Units 9) (~45 minutes)
- This unit was all about numbers, and a bit trickier than expected. The toughest section was identifying mistakes in written numbers, and selecting appropriate numbers to fill in. I also think there was a mistake in one of the answers.

Morning

Read Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 11-12) (~20 minutes)
- A lot of unit 12 seems very new, and this must be where I got to, the first time around. I actually thought it was Unit 14.

Listened to Assimil Hungarian with Ease (Units 7-12) (~15 minutes)
- Just getting to the start of 12. I'll probably do these same tracks a number of times before moving on. I prefer to have complete mastery of an Hungarian unit, before starting something new.

-As an interim step, I've decided to update with my new totals. I can't predict where I'll be at the end of the year, but I imagine my Spanish will have the greatest total.

French
Active Study - 4500 minutes = 75 hours.
Passive Study - 1385 minutes = 23.08 hours
Total: 98.03 hours

Spanish
Active Study - 2040 minutes = 34 hours
Passive Study - 910 minutes = 15.16 hours
Total: 49.16 hours

Russian
Active Study - 690 minutes = 11.5 hours
Passive Study - 0 minutes
Total: 11.5 hours

Hungarian
Active Study - 310 minutes = 5.16 hours
Passive Study - 435 minutes = 7.25 hours
Total: 12.41 hours

Overall
Total = 171.16 hours

Evening

Russian

Michel Thomas Advanced Russian CD2-04 to CD2-06 (~15 minutes)
- Just squeeezed in a short session due to the weather. Fingers crossed it's better this evening.

Spanish

Gramatica A1-A2 Elemental (Anaya\ELE) (Units 10-12) (~2 hours)
- Managed to get through the first 5 exercises in 12. The number of exercises seems to be increasing slightly in each unit. A number of exercises in each unit, are very similar in style to the Nivel Inicial exam.
- In Unit 11, there was an exercise to pick between Qué and Cuál in questions. This exercise highlighted when "Qué" isn't the same as "What", and "Cuál" isn't the same as "Which". This seems to be very much in keeping with the exam.

Assimil Spanish with Ease - (Reread Lessons 28-36, Completed 37, Started 38) (~1 hour)
- Gave a read through the earlier lessons, before moving onto new material.
