I've sent you a private message, shawns. I think the book will be very useful for reading it in parallel with the English text.

Just read and listened to one nice dialogue at Nikolaishvili's. A
couple of friends goes to the theater, the guy proposes to her, but she says they should
wait until summer. Lots of vivid vocabulary. I could understand quite a bit and didn't
get bothered even though it was 3-page long. There were only a couple of words I had to
translate. Now I'm at the final part of this book. It's so great to study Georgian!

zecchino, I think you should really study from this book, you know Russian so you'll have
no problem.

I know Georgian better than Russian. o.O
But I think it would be useful anyway. I really should get more Georgian books! And plus
I'll get to practice my Russian too! :)

Do you have the book? =D Send me a private message if you need help.

I just had a look at lib.ge, and it has always striked me how short the stories are, while I was expecting to find books. Anyway, the fact they're short is not that bad.
I'd like to have world classics/contemporary books translated into Georgian as a start, I find those easier to deal with. If you guys know where to find them, please tell me, I'd really appreciate that!

EDIT: This blog might be of use:

I foresee the day when we'll be asking our questions about Georgian over there in Georgian =D

Hello Expugnator,

I stumbled upon a nice song on Youtube, I think it's in Laz and not in Georgian though..

Are You able to understand some of the lyrics? How big is the difference between Georgian proper and Laz / Mingrelian / Svan?

Nice song! I think the difference is very big, I've tried to read a wikipedia article in
Mingrelian and I couldn't understand anything.

Although in the song I understood "ბიჭი". :D

I always wanted to buy it, but learning caucasian languages without audio is impossible
for me (Maybe even with the audio in the case of Abkhaz).

I was just wondering, does anyone know where one can listen to things in Abkhaz? I
really
want to hear what it sounds like. I tried to find news reports in Abkhaz and things
like
that but I'm not finding anything. I think I might just not be searching for it
correctly. Does anyone know where I can find any programs in this language (e.g. news,
TV, radio, etc)?

Edit: I found a commercial in Abkhaz!
But I still want something longer, you know? Like a news report or show or
podcast...
